Ever since Kenric’s family friends served us honey and goat cheese with bread rolls for breakfast, we (I especially) have learned to love honey. Since then, we often have a small jar of it with us, but we left our most recent jar at an Airbnb place because Kenric was allergic to the wildflower pollen that wasn’t filtered out when the jar was filled.
Yesterday, outside the History of Sofia Museum, there were many vendors selling honey and related products. When I looked out from the museum window, the translucence of the golden liquid was really beautiful. Later, I couldn’t resist stopping by to take some photos. The vendor seemed nice, and he had a small squeeze bottle that was only three Bulgarian Leva (USD $1.83).
He encouraged photos of his honey
I asked if it was produced in Bulgaria. It was. I shook my head when he asked if I wanted to sample. He grabbed his sample jar to show that even the bees like it. He was also very proud of the jar of nuts and fruits in honey. Then he encouraged another window shopper and me to take photos of, which is quite rare of vendors in Bulgaria.
We purchased the small squeeze bottle of “Lime Blossom” honey, and had some for breakfast. It’s very tasty, and Kenric is still alive. It really is the bee’s knees!
