Have you ever wanted to ride a semi-wild horse in Mongolia, swim with giant manta rays in Bali, or drive the Transfăgărășan Highway in Romania? How about spending a night at the Rila Monastery in Bulgaria, participating in the Gautrachenfest in Bavaria, or getting soaked in the Pi Mai water festival in Laos? Well, we didn’t. In fact, we didn’t even know these places, events, and opportunities existed for casual travelers. What we found over our first couple years of travel has amazed us, excited us, and encouraged us to continue our adventures. Through Where Are They Meow?, we want to share these adventures with you.
We are Caren and Kenric. In June 2017 we left our market research and data management jobs, as well as our San Francisco, California home to see the world. In our travels we visit the popular tourist attractions as well as those that are less known. We’ve learned that visiting places where few tourists go results in a more rewarding experience. What you will find here are the stories and photos we collect as we travel; the places we go, the people we meet, and, of course, many of the animals we encounter.
Both of us are animal lovers; cats in particular. Our travels have led us to many places where cats and dogs struggle to survive on the streets. Often ignored by the local human population, we try to feed the animals, show them compassion, and provide veterinary care when possible or necessary. We share the stories of our experiences with some of these animals too; George Constanța, Smarty Cat, Waxy, and many others.
We’ve been on the road for more than three years now. We have collected hundreds of stories and thousands of photos to share with you. We hope you will return to Where Are They Meow? to share our adventure. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Share The Adventure
We will continue to highlight some old stories, write the many that are still in our hearts, and add new ones that unfold. If you like, share our stories with your friends. However, share them not because you want to do us a favor, but because you think others might like to read about or see photos of the people, places and animals. As always, thank you for coming along on this crazy adventure. You have made the past years so much more meaningful.
