We’ve visited Arna’s apartment twice and met up for dinner once. She’s really busy because she’s guiding as many tours as she can before the season dies down. Tourism this summer was quite slow in Sarajevo because many tourists, especially from this region, went to Russia for the World Cup. Even with her busy schedule, she along with her Mom, and family friend (Amra) managed to make us a lot of delicious food, and they always send a lot of food home with us.

This is Arna’s Mom. She’s a great cook and she’s very sweet! Look at all this bread she made. Had I known she was going to send ALL the leftovers home with us, I would have eaten fewer pieces at their place!
This is Amra, their family friend. Before the war her husband had a successful restaurant. She’s a great cook too and she visits them very often.
So tonight, we had potato stuffed peppers, spinach and cheese pie, and super delicious rice for dinner served on a tablecloth Arna’s Mom got for us in case we have a permanent home in the future while I was wearing a sweater re-gifted to me by her Mom. Total freeloaders! I’m so embarrassed. They are just so very nice and generous with us.
They summoned us for a short visit yesterday to pick up all this very delicious food – red bell peppers stuffed with potatoes, spinach and cheese pie, and rice with vegetables. We have more pie in the fridge. Her Mom bought us this tablecloth in case we have a permanent again home in the future, and she also re-gifted this sweater to me. We’re such freeloaders!
Kenric’s Dad said, “Adoption in process.” I think he’s trying to get rid of us. Not so fast, Mr. Erickson. You still have to pick us up from the airport on December 19th!
