We are pretty sure this is the monkey that partied on our balcony the other night. He was here yesterday and today, but wasn’t interested in the stuff on the table, and wasn’t afraid of us at all. He didn’t engage with us either. Yesterday, he was very interested in the vacant unit next door. Today, we realized he was just curious about the monkey he saw reflected in the window!
Then, there is the frog that climbed the wire all the way up to the second floor two nights ago. I went to take my shower after we took its photo. He was gone when I came out. About 20 minutes later, we heard a loud “PLAAT!!” It must have fallen from the roof. Luckily I was inside, so I quickly shut the door. Kenric shooed it down the stairs. Oh….baby, baby, it’s a wild world!
With the open roof, I’m surprised I haven’t died of a heart attack yet after running into a bat. Kenric keeps saying, “They’re here to help you. They eat the bugs for you!” Regardless, we still like this hotel a lot.
The most pleasant visitor we’ve had is the beautiful butterfly that parked itself by the pool this afternoon. Yes, we hang out in the shallow end of the pool.
Making the Rounds
Saw her on our way to breakfast. She’s making her rounds replacing the offerings at all the little shrines around the hotel. First, she prays. Then, we eat. And I love Kenric all the time except for when he makes me mad, like right now.
