We went to Pivnica An for dinner. It’s in the Old Bazaar of #Skopje which is the biggest bazaar in the Balkans. To reach the restaurant, we had to walk through an alley that led to the mid-15th century inn, Kapan Han. The inn is called a caravanserai, an inn for people traveling with the caravan. It would be amazing if I could time travel to the Ottoman period to see what this place was like. As usual, gave some cats dry food.
It was around 4:00 pm so we were the only ones at the restaurant. Pivnica means beerhouse. The beer was good. All the food was great. The mixed appetizer for one was huge. Kenric wanted sarma with grape leaves, but the waiter brought him sarma with cabbage leaves; it’s cabbage roll. I ordered ribs because I wanted leftovers for the cats.
I shredded some of the meat before leaving the restaurant. We went back to the same spot. The cats and kittens ate very quickly, and were quite aggressive/protective of their little piles of meat; must have been starving.
The weather forecast was again totally off, so we got rained on. It’s November 19th. We fly back to California for Christmas on December 19th.
