How is Kenric being treated here in Ipoh? My cousin’s son feeds him; my niece looks like she is skeptical of him; and the dog wants his beer. The top trending word in his life now is “Eat!” and tonight, my six schoolmates ordered a spicy petai dish for him.
Petai aka “bitter bean” and “stink bean” stinks up the bathroom much worse than asparagus during number 1 and number 2!! It also has a lot of health benefits if you survive the smell. I have included a photo taken in Kampung Baru that shows petai hanging in the vegetable stall.
When my friends found out that I’ve never had petai, they peer pressured me into having some because all good Malaysians eat petai. Turns out, Loh ML, Yew KS and Hui CM don’t even eat durian. You girls better not talk to me about being good Malaysians until you eat durian!
