Last night, shortly after Grandma and I went into our respective rooms and while Kenric was still watching TV, she knocked on the door and said, “The ground is white!” We told Kenric, he excitedly opened the door and triggered the alarm. It was really cold outside, but was just frost. We all went to bed with anticipation.
It was a bright and sunny morning. There was frost on the roof. Overnight low was 36°F (2° Celsius). That’s very cold for Redlands. Kenric drove Grandma and me to the United Methodist Women’s Circle Meeting held at the church. On our way back around 11:15 am, Kenric pointed out the snow on some of the roofs. Whoa! In the 60+ years Grandma has lived in Redlands, she has only seen snow here about ten times. She suggested we take a detour. It was a beautiful ride and the views were amazing.
I shared one of the photos of San Bernardino Valley on my former boss’s Facebook because he’s from San Bernardino. He loved it. He said he used to ride his bike from San Bernardino to Redlands. I know Grandma will really miss this beautiful place.
