Cinque Terre means “Five Lands” (five villages). From north to south, the five villages are Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. We’ll be spending three nights here in Riomaggiore and three nights in Vernazza. Gosh, this area is beautiful.
Riomaggiore
A room with this view is, of course, way over our accommodation budget. Since this is the Cinque Terre, and since someone refused to book a room months ago when I asked him to, here we are. We eat views like this for breakfast and lunch, maybe even dinner.

We inadvertently matched, and neither of us was willing to change.
Lots of people on the rocks waiting for the sunset. Told you I’mma milk this view until we check out at 10:00 am tomorrow!
To make this apartment worth the price we paid, I look out at this damn view as much as I can, day and night.
Vernazza
Vernazza
This is the view from our room that costs half the price as the one in Riomaggiore. You get what you pay for.

Monterosso
From this point in Monterosso, Kenric said it is possible to see Vernazza, Manarola, Corniglia, and all the way south to Riomaggiore.

Trattoria da Oscar. We ate there because my cat’s name is Oscar! Spaghetti with seafood. Very good.
Trattoria da Oscar. We ate there because my cat’s name is Oscar! Anchovies in white wine. Way too many anchovies even though it’s not my lunch, but Kenric loved every one of them. Apparently, the Anchovy Festival was just last week.
People who don’t want to pay for the beach chair or pretty umbrella can hang out here.
