On our way to Gjirokaster from Ksamil, we visited a natural monument called The Blue Eye (Syri I Kalter). It’s a spring that gives crystal-clear water and no one knows how deep it is. Divers have gotten as deep as 50 meters (164 feet), but they think it’s still a long way to the bottom. The intense blue of the “Eye”, the intense green of the aquatic plants and the perfectly clear water were mesmerizing. It was a quick stop, but an unforgettable one.
The water was quite cold.

This woman got yelled at by other tourists because she kept telling her husband to retake the photo. I took this photo right when a guy yelled, “Excuse me! Can you please move?” I thought she made this photo more interesting.
The water is so clear. It’s much cleaner than Kenric’s aquarium!
