We toured the ancient village of Duong Lam with my sister and niece today. It’s about a 90-minute drive from Hanoi. The village is well-preserved and beautiful. After lunch, we went on a bike ride. As usual, it was very hot.

She’s eleven and not too embarrassed by my hugs yet, unlike my nephew and the other four older nieces who are too cool for me now. But I didn’t hug her at all today because I was really sweaty. I’ll have to remember to do that first thing in the morning.
