There are many popular lakes in the Canadian Rockies, namely, Moraine Lake and Lake Louise which are two of the most photographed lakes in the world. However, partly due to weather and partly due to the crowds, I didn’t really enjoy them. They are undoubtedly visually stunning though, and I will share some photos of them soon.
My favorite lake is Horseshoe Lake in Jasper National Park. The water was so very clear I couldn’t stop looking into it. There was a group of youngins diving from the cliff, a couple was having a picnic and we saw another couple walking towards the lake with a towel. Instead of avoiding stepping in others’ photos, or waiting for the prime photo spots, the people we saw at Horseshoe Lake were actually having fun. That’s why it’s my favorite lake. And there were a bazillion little fish!
