We read that the best time to visit Thor’s Well is at high tide. Today’s high tide was forecasted to be at 6:23 pm. We arrived around 4:30. It’s a short hike down to the rocky Pacific Coast. Somewhere down this “Well” is a hole through which the ocean water comes in and fill up the hole. As the waves got bigger and stronger, Thor’s Well filled up more forcefully splashing water on anyone standing too close.
Seeing the water fill up Thor’s Well and drain with every big wave was hypnotic. It was quite treacherous. Back up at the parking lot, a mother was helping her toddler put on his coat. She took a deep breath and said, “Let’s go meet your maker!” I asked, “Thor?”
