At the top of the mountain here in Kotor is Tvrđave Kotora (Castle of San Giovanni). It’s just the ruins left now. The weather was finally dry enough for us to hike up there today. We still had a late start (3:45 pm) because we took Waxy to the vet for her final shot of antibiotics.
The view was amazing. At about the halfway point is Our Lady of Health Church. We don’t know how often the church is used. I looked inside, and there were two kittens hanging out. The wire mesh door had a square cut out for the cats. We gave them some food. There was a pile left by someone earlier. The sun was beginning to set. Sunset was 4:27 pm.
At the next lookout point, we decided to not go any further because it was quite dark, and there was no one around. I’m somewhat glad we didn’t hike all the way up; gives us an excuse to come back because I am so much more in love with this place.
