We encountered quite a few areas with intense smoke when we headed north to Wiseman, Alaska the other day. Hopefully, the fires are contained and we can get back to Fairbanks today. Regardless, our little adventure in the Arctic Circle was totally worth it. If we’re forced to stay here for a few more days, we wouldn’t be too heartbroken.

Driving through the smoke and trying to avoid the THOUSANDS of potholes on the road, we questioned our judgment to continue on until we saw four bikers ahead of us who turned out to be our neighbors for the night. The only thing I could do was sing “Wiseman say only fools rush in….”
