My very good friend brought us to her home for dinner tonight. Her children had referred to me as their Mom’s BFF. The last time I saw my BFF and her husband was 14 years ago in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA. It was so good to see her sister too, whom I had met when she visited the US. Their entire family is wonderful but nothing beats the lovely children; not even the wonderful food.
My BFF is just as kind, loving, caring, and patient as she was when we worked at a Chinese restaurant together; and we (I especially) needed A LOT of patience there. There are too many stories from that past life to share here. Perhaps I just want to reserve those memories (good and bad), and this special evening for myself.
What I’ll share are old photos, some of which I don’t even have a copy. It was a wonderful throwback evening. Even Kenric threw back a few with my BFF’s husband who offered to bust out his Johnnie Walker for the American. An evening with your good friend can do wonders to your heart and soul just like it did mine.
To Sheila’s friends who doubted that she made cocktails and drinks, let me tell you, our bartender friend here can make a really good Four-Rum Mai Tai!
Thanks for a wonderful evening! I’ll see you when I see you! XOXO
