Central Market
We are in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It’s been very cold, and it’s raining again. We went to the Central Market, an open air market. There were many vendors selling all kinds of produce, flowers, food and goods.
We bought tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and feta cheese to make our own Shopska Salad. We also bought a persimmon. It is THE BEST persimmon I’ve ever tasted. We will go back to get more tomorrow. Like 32 more.
Local Specialty
We dined at a restaurant called Vizija Gostinstvo. It felt good to have finally ordered a dish that tasted better than Kenric’s, much better. He ordered the Slovenian sausage just to try the local specialty. It was very bland and dry; the complete opposite of my suckling pig The best thing on my dish was actually the cabbage with crispy lardon. We do like Ljubljana, but it’s quite expensive here.
