The tour our friend arranged this past Friday included a visit to OKA Agriculture Bali where the main attraction is its civit coffee (Kopi Luwak). In one of the photos, you can read the description of civit coffee provided by the farm. Briefly, the civit cat eats the coffee cherries including the coffee beans. The cherries and the beans go through the digestive tract and the beans/seeds get passed out as feces. The beans are collected and processed.
The tea and flavored coffee tasting was very good. Among the different types of tea, I especially liked the lemon grass, ginger, and turmeric. We bought all three. Kenric also bought the mocha, and coconut coffee. I had a sip of Kenric’s civit coffee and thought it was OK. He described it as expensive regular coffee, and didn’t see what’s special about it. Maybe we just don’t know how to appreciate it because people who a pay high premium for civit coffee think it’s the shit!
Mount Batur
Our friend suggested that we also do a Mount Batur sunrise tour. The problem is, they start at around 2:00 am. It’s breathtaking figuratively and literally. In case we don’t make it, here’s the beautiful active volcano and its lake at a more agreeable time. Thanks again for lunch, VW!
