I really like the street our hotel was on in Veliko Tărnovo in Bulgaria. It is called General Gurko Street. It overlooks the Yantra River and the Asen’s Monument. Most of the buildings are very old, some recently renovated, some under renovation, and a few abandoned. There are a few stairways that lead up the hill to the main street.
Children playing football or making sand castles with sand at the construction site; old ladies fetching water for the plants along the street, sitting on the ledge tourist watching, or just chatting the evening away. Most of all, I love the cats that live there. I will miss this place very much.
