Our first dinner in Firenze at La Cantinetta Firenze was so delicious we may have to go back! We probably will because the food was delicious, the owner/manager was really nice and the price was very reasonable. Besides, it’s only about one hundred steps from the hotel, but first we’d have to go down eight flights of stairs.
Tuscan cured meat and cheese. What could be better?
One of the best steaks in the world for 20,00€ (USD $23.46) and we shared this for dinner. It’s comparable to Kobe Tomahawk, no kidding. Listed on the menu as: Controfiletto di Bovino Maremmano con Funghi Porcini (Beef Loin Steak With Wild Porcini Mushrooms)
Biscotti dipped in Vin Santo. Underrated and always delicious!
Red wine gives me severe headaches, but the steak was so good, I couldn’t resist the wine.

When in Firenze, a photo of Michelangelo’s David is a must. So, here’s one of the magnificent masterpiece, and one of how crowded it really was. An elderly man tried to pose like David for a photo with his wife. She gave him a stern look. He put his hand down, brought his legs back together and stopped smiling.

We went to Piazzale Michelangelo for some iconic views of Firenze. So did a million other tourists. On our way down, the moon was full and beautiful. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all who celebrate.

Uffizi Gallery Museum
In Firenze, we spent a few hours at the Uffizi Gallery Museum seeing the Renaissance paintings that we were “supposed” to see. They are very beautiful, but I don’t know if I appreciated them to the extent I was supposed to per the audio guide.
After hours of immersing myself in masterpieces, the only book I wanted to buy at the museum bookstore was one of famous paintings where the human faces were all replaced with cats! Check out the very cute book cover of Gatta Lavori! It’s Cat with a Pearl Earring! Yeah, all those hours of art wasted on me.
You can take the girl outta the Gatto, but you can’t take the Gatto out of the girl.
