Fifty-eight years ago today, Grandpa and Grandma, and their three daughters moved into this house. Kenric and I thought we’d make something Grandma said they had quite often in this house for dinner – Golden Mushroom Stroganoff. She approved! Glad we doubled the recipe because we all want some more soon! Here’s the easy recipe:
Golden Mushroom Stroganoff
- 1 lb round steak cut into thin strips
- 1/4 cup sliced onion
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 can Campbell’s golden mushroom soup
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- In a skillet, brown meat and cook onion in butter until tender.
- Stir in soup and water.
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally. (We let it cook for about two hours.)
- Stir in sour cream a few minutes before serving. (Make sure it’s hot again before serving.)
- Serve over hot buttered egg noodles.
