Hello from King’s Landing where Kenric is forced to perform the Walk of Atonement as a punishment for running out of cat treats. Shame! Shame! Shame!
In Dubrovnik, you just can’t escape Game of Thrones.
Smart TV
This Airbnb room in Dubrovnik is the first one that comes with a smart TV connected to Google Play. We didn’t watch the latest season of Game of Thrones even though many scenes were filmed here. We started Designated Survivor instead. Big mistake. So, we stayed up very late for three nights, and stayed in all day today to fix that mistake. Twenty-five episodes all watched!
It’s too late to go out now. So, here’s a photo from the room window, and a few more from last night.
I bet everyone who works at the restaurant hates that Game of Thrones tune, but we and everyone walking by loved it!
Fort Imperijal
We took the cable car from Old Town Dubrovnik up to Mount Srđ (pronounced Serg). At the top of the mountain is Fort Imperijal built between 1806 and 1812 by Napoleon. During the Croatian Independence War (1991 – 1995), from Yugoslavia, the fort was heavily bombarded. This evening, it was nothing but pure beauty.
Old Town #Dubrovnik is surrounded by a two-kilometer (1.2-mile) defensive wall. The entire Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We were the watchers on the wall today. We saw a lot of white walkers, but really, The Pearl of the Adriatic attracts people from all over the world. Here are just some of the very beautiful things we saw beyond the wall.
