Meet Sara! She was crying on the roof, outside our window this afternoon. It looked like she didn’t know how to get back down, but she was too scared to come inside the window. After tossing her quite a few pieces of treats, I had to shut the window because it was cold. I didn’t hear her cries again until hours later when it was dark and I suddenly asked, “Do you think kitty went home?”
“Yes….err she’s at the window.”
“REALLY?! GET THE FOOD!”
She was very timid, but eventually came in to eat. After every bite, she would turn around to make sure the window is still open. After she left, I put the leftover food on the window sill and closed the window. Since then, she’s been back eating the food, looking inside at us and then running away every time we approach the window. I put out more food and the cycle repeats. The overnight low is expected to be 34° Fahrenheit (1° Celsius) and I’m afraid Young Sara is really stuck on the roof, so I opened the window for her, freezing ourselves. In true cat fashion, she looks but won’t enter. She’s a cat on a cold tile roof.
In Cantonese, “ye” means wild, and since she is a “ye” cat, her full name is Sarayecat! Happy Black Cat Awareness Month, Sarayecat!
