We took the boat to Bled Island this morning before leaving Bled. I was surprised when the boat operator told us we must be back in 45 minutes. It was quite rushed, but there really wasn’t much to do on the tiny island. The view from the top of the church’s clock tower was good.
On our way back to Ljubljana, we took a detour to check out Jelovica. It’s quite far into the mountains. When we were just a few minutes away, the single-lane curvy road was suddenly covered in snow and ice. The snow was plowed, and the road was cleared up until that point. Then, Google Maps stopped working. About ten minutes later, we managed to find a safe spot to turn around. Those twenty minutes were quite scary, and Kenric was pretty tense. Later, he revealed that the car skidded a little twice while on that stretch of icy road.
So, we had extra gluhwein to calm our nerves back in Ljubljana at the Christmas market that started two days ago.
