The Hundertwasser House is a whimsical residential building. Though not as whimsical as Gaudi’s buildings in Barcelona, it is a popular museum. We saw people going up to the terrace to take photos, but we stayed on street level.
From there, we walked to Stadtpark. There weren’t too many people around. A group of tourists waltzed in, snapped a few photos with Johann Strauss, and ran back to their bus. It was really cold.
We had coffee at a McCafe, and I managed to resist having a Filet-O-Fish. The key code for the WC (Water Closet) was printed on the receipt. In case you need to use their toilet, it’s 6806A; but it has probably expired by now.
From there, we went to the Christmas market at Karlsplatz (St. Charles Square). There were many cool works of art and handicrafts for sale. There was an artist who twists wool and silk into figurines. She also makes framed art with wool and silk threads. There were also high-resolution photographs of her work for sale. It’s one of the most beautiful techniques I’ve seen. If you’re interested, here’s her Facebook page Tünde Toll – Bilder aus Wolle & Seide.
It would cost 8€ (USD $9.39) per person to see the inside of the beautiful Karlskirche (St. Charles’ Church). So, we went straight to dinner. To those who eat pork, it doesn’t get much better than the Stelze (Ham Hock or Pork Knuckle) at Salm Brau. The extremely crispy skin is even better than that of the Chinese roast pork.
We have one full day left on this trip. Earlier, Kenric asked, “Will my Mommy recognize me?” Even I don’t recognize him.
