We’re in Berat, Albania now. The drive from Kotor, Montenegro took eight hours, and included a two-hour detour for Chinese food in Tirana. We’ve dined at Oriental City twice previously and think it has the best Chinese food in all of the Balkans.
That’s why we went there to get takeout for the family that runs Hotel Orestiada as a thank-you for storing our stuff for the past 2.5 months. Ermal, the waiter, thought the food was good. I hope the others liked it too.
It’s really good to be back in Albania even if it’s only for four days. Too bad Grigor, the other waiter, left the job. He’s well-read and knows a lot about American movies. We really enjoyed chatting with him during our four-week stay in October.
Here are some of the photos taken in Albania during our drive.
