Usually, when Kenric and his childhood friend, Justin, get together, it’s trouble. If it’s not getting lost in a bar on their way to the grocery store, it’s triggering the smoke alarm while cooking. For the last few years before we left San Francisco, that was their new year’s eve tradition – settling on a dish to make, reviewing the recipe, leaving the house for the grocery store, stopping at one or two bars, coming home tipsy with items on the shopping list missing, and playing chefs in the kitchen. They somehow managed to avoid burning down the place and the food was always impressive. Sadly, that tradition ended when we left San Francisco.
The three of us met at Jack Rose Libation House (closed 2019) in Saratoga yesterday. The food was not as good as what the two guys made, the drinks were a little too sweet, but the company was just as great, if not better. We drove back to Redlands today, so we couldn’t play tennis with him. Until next time, all-love, Justin!
